Online Credit Card Fraud

Unfortunately Credit Card fraud has been around along time, over the years measures have been made to reduce the amount of fraudulent purchases with credit cards. It is easy to ask someone to see their ID when they are making a purchase face to face, but with the age of the Internet that security measure is gone.

When someone makes a purchase online there is no way to ask to see ID for verification of the identity of the individual. that leaves the cv number as the only verification that the person is who they claim they are. Unfortunately when a thief gets your credit card information they also get the CV number of the back, by getting this number online merchants have little to know way of telling if the purchase is legitimate or fraudulent, in most cases the merchant doesn't find out until the card company requests a payback, the real kicker there is by that time the merchant has already sent off the product and is now out the sale AND the cost of the product and the card holder is out a few days of hassle while they wait for their new card. Now don't get me wrong as a credit card holder I am glad that my card company will not make me pay for things criminals purchased with my card but as a merchant it is frustrating that they won't cover the purchases that were made leaving me holding the proverbial bag so to speak.

Wholesale Mega Store has had it's share of fraudulent purchases and has paid dearly for them. as a result we have had to stop shipping world wide and have concentrated on North America and Canada. Unfortunately as a result of our new policies shipping sometimes takes an additional 7 to 10 days, this only occurs when something sets of a flag with in our system (and there are a few). But with these new protocols in place not many get through and everyone is a little more protected against the criminals.

There are a number of ways to reduce these events and to explain what can and should be done. I have come across one explanation by Steven Patient and he explains it better than I ever could. you need to read what he has to say.

How To Change Language Settings On Phones

If you have friends and family as I do then you probably know how frustrating it is when they get your cell phone and decide to change the language setting to something else like klingon. ha ha very funny,

However most cell phones go about things in a similar way and usually use the media tek 6225 chip set or the media tek 6235 chip set. There are some things that will be in the same place, one of them is the language settings.

On every phone I have dealt with the function to change the language is in the Phone Setup, and you can find that in the Settings. Now because your clown buddy changed the language on you it will be virtually impossible for you to navigate by reading so you need to look for icons. The setting icon is on the the main menu and always looks like a wheel or cog. The setting icon is usually represented as some sort of tool like a hammer and wrench and sometimes a screwdriver.

Once you have visually located these icons press the Setting icon and then locate and press the Phone Setup icon. Now you are ate the Language setting of your phone, simply look for your language, highlight it and set it as your default.
Another instance that may need you to change your language settings is when do a factory reset (also known as a HARD RESET). this may have to be done for many reasons such as your PDA gets corrupted or for some reason a program update has halted the functionality of your phone. if you have a phone that was manufactured somewhere else other than north America this reset will switch the language back to it's original language setting, just simply follow the above directions and change the language back to your preference.
There you go YOU and your PHONE are now joke proof from your friends.

iPod or HiPod

As we are all aware the iPod has made a huge impact on society around the world and now the iPod Touch is sweeping the nation as the most sought after MP4 player. But now a new MP4 player has hit the market it's called the Hi Pod and yes you guessed it it's from China.
I have had the opportunity to use the Hi Pod and will share my thoughts about the product.
The Hi Pod looks and feels very similar to the actual iPod, although smaller and lighter it has many of the same features as the original. it's sound quality is the same as any of the other digital MP4 players on the market, the feel of the unit is of course light and cheap however as I tend to be clumsy it can handle several falls.
Uploading music is a bit of a chore (as with any player) due to it doesn't support iTunes directly, instead there is software (comes with) that allows you to transfer music to and from the unit. Another function that the Hi Pod can't support is Wi-Fi, which to be honest is a great feature to have especially if you are sitting at an airport hot spot waiting for your next flight or someone you can listen to music and check emails, it's a great way to kill some time.
The Hi Pod is a great alternative especially for people who don't have the cash for the real iPod Touch as the price is considerably less, an iPod Touch 8GB goes for around $199.99 Canadian where a Hi Pod Touch 16GB is under $100.00 Canadian.
